Curtis Dewain Dempsey

Curtis Dewain Dempsey, 82, of Kingsville, Missouri passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021, surrounded by family by his bedside. Curtis was born on April 25, 1939, in Osceola, MO, the son of Ferrell Russell Dempsey and Rose Irene (Keltner) Dempsey. He attended school in Warrensburg, MO and graduated from Warrensburg High School, the class of 1958. He married his wife, Judith “Judi” (White) Dempsey on January 12, 1971, in Independence, MO. Moving from Lone Jack, MO making Kingsville, MO their home since 1984. Curtis worked as a Construction Foreman. He was employed with Don Kirn Construction in Lee’s Summit, MO for over 30 years. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of the Forward Community Church in Holden, MO. Curtis is preceded in death by his parents, Ferrell, and Rose Dempsey; three brothers, Harvey Dempsey, Dennis Dempsey, and Claud Dempsey. He is survived by his wife, Judi Dempsey of Kingsville, MO; five sons, Daniel Dempsey of Kingsville, MO, Todd Dempsey of Warrensburg, MO, Troy Dempsey and wife, Patty of Windsor, MO, Carl Wayne Cleveland of Tracey, MO, Jim Cleveland and wife, Stacy of Holden, MO; two daughters, Vicki Coen and husband, Scott of Holden, MO, Darlene Cox and husband, Ronald of Harrisonville, MO; two brothers, Doug Dempsey of Pleasant Hill, MO, Lynn Dempsey of Centerview, MO; three sisters, Carol Homfeld of Concordia, MO, Dorothy Street and husband, Rodney of Centerview, MO, Judy Kay Stephens of Warrensburg, MO; 15 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Forward Community Church in Holden, MO (298 RT-131, Holden, MO). Funeral Services with Pastor Dexter Snyder officiating are scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. immediately after the visitation on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Forward Community Church in Holden. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Dempsey, Anthony Dempsey, Tyler Ellis, Chad Lee, Ronnie Cox, and Calvin Taber. Honorary Pallbearers are Carl Dean Cleveland, Jeremiah Neal, and Jayden Hetrick.
