Kenneth Lee Renick

Kenneth Lee Renick, 86 of Holden, Missouri passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Health & Rehab in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. He was born Wednesday, October 19, 1938, in Holden, Missouri, to the late Kenneth Renick and the late Erma Crabtree Bravo-House. Kenny and his mother moved to Kansas City so he could attend the R.J. DeLano School for Physically Disabled Children in Kansas City, MO. While visiting his father in Holden he attended a boy scout meeting and enjoyed it so much he joined Troop 152 at his own school. As a disabled child with cerebral palsy, Kenny worked tirelessly to earn his Hiking Merit Badge which greatly helped him with his ability to walk. Over the many years he spent in the boy scouts he reached the accomplishment of Life Scout. While in the boy scouts, he sold candy door to door for a fundraiser. He sold so much candy that the company invited him to work for the company. He sold candy for Green Mills Candy and Popcorn in Kansas City for 45 years until his retirement. Later in life Kenny moved back to Holden area and lived in his grandparents’ home. He enjoyed going to the local establishments, always having his chess board with him and would invite anyone to play a game of chess, he enjoyed listening to music and socializing with friends. He was an animal lover and was a jokester. Kenny loved to mow his grass and work in the yard. Kenny will be missed greatly by all his friends and family. Surviving are two sisters, Jerrie Goldsmith of Holden, MO and Lisa (Robert), Jones of Shawnee, KS; brother, John Cantrell of Kansas City, Ks; nephews, Davian Hawkins, Wesley Goldsmith; nieces, Jacquetta Charles and Sara Foster; great nieces, Dasane Charles, Maddison Goldsmith, and many other nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Erma; his wife, Rosemary Renick; sister Linda Watson and infant sister Carolyn Renick. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Campbell-Cast Funeral Home, 407 S. Pine St., Holden, Missouri. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM on Saturday at Campbell-Cast Funeral Home located at 407 S. Pine St. Holden, Missouri 64040.
