Shirley Roberta Watterson

Shirley Roberta Watterson 81, Kingsville, Missouri, passed away October 17, 2016 at home. She was born April 19, 1935 in Holden, Missouri, the daughter of Clarence and Kathryn (Platter) Shull. She had lived in the Kingsville and Holden area most of her life and was a graduate of Kingsville High School. She married Leslie Allen Watterson on August 7, 1954. Shirley was the bookkeeper and co-owner of Flame Gas Company in Kingsville for many years. Shirley had been a member of the Women's Auxiliary Post 5844 in Holden she also taught cooking for many years in 4-H and had been a member of the Holden and Pleasant Hill Saddle Club and the American Quarter Horse Association as well as the Appalosa Horse Club. Her and her husband put on many showdeo's at the Kingsville arena and was a proud member of the Kingsville Baptist Church. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Leslie Watterson on October 8, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her father and mother, one brother, Jack Shull; four sisters Jimmy Darlene Shull, Brenda Kay Shull, Billie Gudde, and Donna Wirsig. Surviving her passing are two sons, David Allen Watterson and wife Cindy, Springfield Missouri; and Robert Duane Wattersonand wife Cindy, Sallisaw Oklahoma. Two daughters, Leslie Darlene Watterson- Brandsma, Kingsville Missouri and Shirley Denise Morris, Warrensburg Missouri. Thirteen Grandchildren and fourteen Great-Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild. Also surviving are Two brothers, George Shull and Wife Shirley, Kingsville Missouri, and Bob Shull, Kingsville Missouri. Four sisters, Georgia Kennedy, Holden MO, Betty Gudde, Warrensburg Missouri, Bonnie Tirk and husband Joe, Kingsville MO, and Debbie Phelps and husband Lewis, Kingsville Missouri. Memorial contributions can be made to the Kingsville Baptist Church, Kingsville, Missouri Visitation will be held Sunday October 23, 2016 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home Funeral Services will be held Monday October 24, 2016 at 2:00pm at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor John McRoy officiating. Pallbearers will be Austin Watterson, Jonathon Watterson, Nick Watterson, Michael Watterson, Will Morris, Cody Watterson and Colt Watterson.
