William Henry VanHousen

William Henry VanHousen, age 71 passed away peacefully at Country Club Rehab and Healthcare Center in Warrensburg, Missouri on May 27, 2024, with his longtime companion Vicki Hamilton by his side. William was born on June 17, 1952, to the late Leslie and Marie (Clark) VanHousen in Penn Yan, New York. He has three sons William II, Richard, and Nickles VanHousen and one sister Sandra who passed away at the age of four. Both of his parents lived to see all their grandchildren. Bill was raised closely in New York with his Aunt Judy, who was close in age to him, they would call each other often up until his passing. He joined the Air Force during the Vietnam war getting his GED and learning a trade in plumbing. He was married to Lolita while stationed in the Philippines. They have three sons: William Henry VanHousen II, Richard VanHousen, Nickles VanHousen. William and Lolita were divorced prior to his retirement at Whiteman Air Force base in Knob Noster, MO. William met his longtime companion Vicki Hamilton in 1995 and made their home in Holden, MO. Bill was rightfully proud of his rank as Staff Sergeant in the Air Force and all the jobs he did after retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing until becoming blind. He was a big movie buff, especially westerns. He enjoyed talking to friends, which became very important. Both Vicki and him were avid sports fans following the Kansas City Chiefs and the Royals. Sitting under the old maple tree, in the summer breeze, he would reminisce about family and friends with memories of growing up in New York. Sadly, congestive heart failure from diabetes was too tough for him. Surviving his passing are Vicki Hamilton of the home in Holden, Mo; three sons, William Henry (Makenzie) VanHousen and family of Independence, MO, Richard VanHousen and son of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Nickles VanHousen and son of Nevada, MO; four grandchildren; one aunt, Judith Ventura of Weckie Wachee, FL. A service is planned for the family and friends in Missouri at Campbell-Cast Funeral Home 407 S. Pine Holden, MO. on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 11:00am. He will then be cremated, and his cremains will be sent to his aunt Judith Ventura for a service with family and friends in New York where he will be laid to rest with Military honors.
