Dennis Keith Smithson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dennis Keith Smithson, 73, Holden Missouri, passed away July 4, 2016 at his home. Dennis was born April 10, 1943 to James Earl Smithson and Mildred Cora (Jacks) Smithson in Minnesota. Dennis graduated high school at South East High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Dennis moved to the Holden area in 1974, and in June 6, 1975, he married Linda Ann Hedden. Dennis worked and retired from the Kansas City Star and also worked for many years as the Sexton at the Holden Cemetery. Dennis always felt that his calling was maintaining the cemetery and helping families locate loved ones who have passed away. Dennis was a long time member of the Holden First Baptist Church. ] Dennis is survived by his wife Linda, of the home; four sons, Russell Smithson and wife Kathy, Higginsville, Missouri; Scott Smithson and wife Jennifer, Holden, Missouri; Douglas Eugene Smithson, Lee's Summit, Missouri; Darryll James Smithson, Warrensburg, Missouri. Ten grandchildren; Greg Smithson and wife Heather; Anthony Smithson; Steve and wife Lindsey; Douglas Ryan Smithson and Lauren Fears; Tony Ray Davis; Alexandria Smithson and Cody Copeland and Caleb Smithson. Dennis was preceded in death by one son Raymond Smithson 1988. A Private Service with family will be held 5:00pm Thursday July 7, 2016 at New Life Fellowship 400 South Main Holden, Missouri. Memorial Contributions can be made in Honor of Dennis Smithson to the New Life Fellowship Baptist Church.
