Mavis Lee Hancock, age 78, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017, in Warrensburg, Missouri. Mavis was born June 9, 1939 in Red Rock, Arkansas, the Daughter of Elver Shatwell and Effie (Davis) Shatwell. Mavis lived in the Holden area most of her life. She was united in marriage to her Husband David Hancock, June 2, 1960 in Holden, Missouri. She worked as a seamstress at the Holden Sewing Factory for many years. Mavis was a member of the Holden Community of Christ Church. She was also a member of the Crochet Club in Holden, Missouri. Surviving her passing are three sons, Dewayne Hancock and wife Jeanette, Vender, Arkansas; Paul Hancock and wife Linda, Holden, Missouri; Scott Hancock, Holden, Missouri; two daughters, Paula Martin, Sedalia, Missouri; Cheryl Johnson, Holden, Missouri; two brothers, Carl Shatwell, Valley Springs, Arkansas; Farrell Shatwell, Harrison, Arkansas; three sisters, Patsy Jones and husband Bruce, Marble Falls, Arkansas; Thelma Pruitt, Jasper, Arkansas; Vonna Smith, Urich, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren. Mavis was preceded in death by her Parents, Elver and Effie Shatwell, Husband, David Hancock. Graveside Services will be Saturday, July 15. 2017, 10:00 a.m., Fairview Cemetery, Holden, Missouri. Officiating the service, Evangelist, Fred Christenson. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Holden Community of Christ Church, Holden, Missouri.
