Peggy Duensing
May 21, 1951 - December 10, 2021
Peggy Josephine Duensing, 70 of Independence, Missouri passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence. She was born Monday, May 21, 1951 and was the daughter of the late William Brown and the late Marilyn Brown (Heinman). Peggy received her master's in social work in 1983 and attained her specialist license in clinical social work in 1985. Peggy worked as a clinical social worker for over 35 years. Early in her career she started her practice helping children at Rainbow psychiatric hospital, treating children and their families. Shortly after leaving Rainbow, she worked as an individual and family therapist helping many in the Kansas City area. At one point she developed a group for women who suffered from childhood trauma. Peggy then moved to Kaiser where she helped many others with medical issues. After Kaiser, she left Kansas City and worked a short time at John Knox Villages with the elderly and Rediscover Mental Health Center, where she continued as a therapist. Many would say she was a superb individual and family therapist. The Kansas City area will miss the talents Peggy possessed, and care and love she shared with family, coworkers and friends. She will be sorely missed but God will welcome her into Heaven. Surviving are one brother, Patrick Brown of Independence; and one sister, Trish Planck of Springfield, MO. Private interment will be in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Centerview, MO.
