William Arthur Taylor Sr.

June 5, 1938 - June 2, 2020

William (Bill) Arthur Taylor left this world for a better place on June 2, 2020 at his home in John Knox Village, Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Bill was born on June 5, 1938 to Isiah and Ella Taylor in Brewton, Alabama. Bill attended T. R. Miller High School in Brewton. After graduation he married Louise Annette Watson on August 27, 1957. Bill enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Italy and received an honorable discharge in 1960. In 1966, he landed a job at the GM Fairfax Plant in Kansas City and retired from there on September 1, 1996. Bill was preceded in death by his mother, father, seven brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife Louise who resides at John Knox Care Center; brother, Frank Taylor of Brewton, Alabama and sister, Nell Gerrard of Pensacola, Florida; daughter, Martha Gard (Mike) of Kingsville, Missouri; son, Artie Taylor (Ileasha)of Centerview, Missouri; 5 grandchildren, Lisa Stoyko (Eric), Sarah Holdmeyer (Steve), Erica Kee (Adam), Ashley Beason (Keith), Zachary Taylor; 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bill loved fishing on Truman Lake and visiting his Amish "family" to purchase vegetables and flowers. Family members will take Bill home and celebrate his life at a private ceremony in Brewton, Alabama at his plot he has waiting.
