Marty Scott Junkins

Marty “Bubba” Scott Junkins, 63 of Holden, MO passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday September 12, 2023, at St Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, MO. He was born Tuesday, April 4, 1960, in Oskaloosa, IA to Gary and Marilyn (Mueller) Junkins. Bubba as he was affectionately known, graduated from Oskaloosa High School and then attended the University of Northern Iowa. Marty moved to Missouri and co-owned and operated Sharp’s Restaurant in Kansas City for over 20 years. He developed a large community of close friends that remain so to this day. He continued his love of cooking, by grilling, smoking meat, and baking bread up until his passing. He married the love of his life, Todd Tramp in 2007 and the couple made their home on the ranch in rural Holden, MO for the next 16 years. Marty was Todd’s number one fan when it came to rodeo. Two weekends a month Marty cheered on Todd and was able to win a championship buckle of his own that he was very proud of. Marty was an avid Harley Davidson rider and never missed the chance to go for a cruise. When he wasn’t cooking, he was tending to his Koi Pond, and enjoying happy hour at his favorite places. Belize held a special place in his heart, and he traveled there several times and was planning a return trip for Todd’s 60th Birthday. When not at a rodeo, weekends were spent grilling and smoking meat while watching college football and the Chiefs. Marty loved animals, especially his horse, Flash, who he considered his puppy dog. Marty was special to many people and will be missed deeply. Surviving his passing, husband, Todd Tramp, of the home; father, Gary Junkins, wife Cindy, of Oskaloosa, IA; brothers, Brent Junkins, of Rosamond, CA, and Shawn Junkins, wife Noreen Grabowksi, of Omaha NE; sister, Jodi Wilson, husband Bruce, of Oskaloosa, IA; mother-in-law, Eileen Tramp; brother-in-law, Tim Tramp. Preceding Marty in death, his mother Marilyn Mueller; paternal grandparents Leo and Mabel Junkins; maternal grandparents Dwain and Arvillo Mueller. The family will have a Memorial Service Saturday September 23, 2023, at 10AM at Campbell-Cast Funeral Home, 407 S. Pine, Holden, MO 64040 with Dexter Snyder officiating. No dress code but anything goes! Be Casual, Be Formal, Be Rocky Horror, Be Glitter, Be Rainbow, Be Halloween, but most importantly BE YOURSELF!! The gathering is to see where he made so many memories and lived and breathed everyday. If it rains, it will be in the pole barn, another part of our wonderful life.
